Meet Teddy & Clark
Teddy’s medical journey began at just two months old when he was diagnosed with a spontaneous bile duct leak and portal vein thrombosis, a rare and complex condition affecting the body’s vascular system. Teddy continues to receive ongoing monitoring and care at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals. This family is deeply grateful for the care he received and credits the UCSF team with saving his life.
Two years later, his parents faced another medical challenge when their second son, Clark, was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a serious eye cancer. The treatment at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals has helped Clark, though he now has limited vision in one eye. Despite these early health struggles, the family remains grateful and hopeful, viewing their experience as a testament to the exceptional care they've received.
