The Coverups, led by Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong perform at the after party.

On Saturday, May 2, Notes & Words filled the historic Fox Theater in Oakland in support of UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals.

From powerful prose to unforgettable jams, the evening delivered. On stage: Grammy-nominated duo Black Violin, Oakland’s own August Lee Stevens, New York Times bestselling author Emily Rapp Black, pioneering UCSF neuroscientist Dr. Charles Limb, and rising stars from the Oakland School for the Arts. The night continued with a lively after party featuring The Coverups, led by Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong.

Together, the event raised $1.2 million for children and families at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals—support that advances the care, research, and services patients and families rely on every day.

A huge thanks to our sponsors, performers, and community for making the evening possible.
