Theo: Defying the Odds

Theo’s story is one of a very courageous boy, his family and the team of doctors at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland who came together to save him. When Theo was brought to the hospital’s emergency department with yet-to-be diagnosed leukemia and a tumor obstructing his airway, 14 physicians from 8 specialties worked together urgently to save his life. His family trusted the experience and focus of his physicians to get Theo through a critical period in his young life.
