Meet Dilan

A sports lover and competitive athlete, Dilan's life took a terrifying turn when an allergic reaction cut off the oxygen to his brain and resulted in a severe brain injury. At UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, the entire team rallied around Dilan and his family. The rehab team, nursing staff, hospital schoolteachers, and child life specialists all helped Dilan get back to his old self.

"It was such a special place that gave us hope during the worst few months of our lives, with wonderful people making it feel like home," says mom, Anu. "We came to a strange place and left with a family that we will forever be thankful for. We will forever regard them as angels in our heart!"
