Shannon Alcorn went in for a routine ultrasound and found out something was terribly wrong with their baby Jameson. He was diagnosed with pleural effusion, meaning his chest was full of fluid, compromising his heart and lungs. Desperate, the Alcorns sought help at UCSF where a team of innovative fetal treatment experts has been pushing the boundaries of medicine to learn how to heal a body, even before birth.
